June 26, 2010

Bonnie & Dean's wedding was perfect.  All the Sylvester girls had a blast.  Nathan and Sara Sylvester enjoyed themselves, also.  It was a beautiful summer day to remember.  The weather was perfect.  The atmosphere was full of love, smiles and fun.... just like Bonnie.

Rodeo in Central PA

Mary spent Father's Day with her dad in Hollidaysburg.  They went for a Father's Day Hike and had a fabulous time.  I was able to attend Central PA's Rodeo in Huntington.  Charly was the only one who did not get sunburned.  I hadn't been to a rodeo since I was 5 and living on Maui.  It was a blast.  The riders were amazing and made everything seem effortless.  I'm going to try and find a local rodeo to take Mary.  She would have had a blast!  Charly, Roy and I had a great time.

Finishing Projects on a beautiful Saturday in West Virginia

Russia Punch Needle Embroidery... I started the project in February when visiting Barbie in Suffolk, Virginia.

It is really fun to do and addictive.  Mary and I plan on making rugs for her doll house with this technique.

Summer Days having a blast!

Building a summer fort with the clothesline.  It doesn't get any better than that!  Charlie Cat is always in the thick of things.

Mary and I begin planning for the Renaissance Faire

We are planning on attending the Maryland Renaissance Festival in September with Roy, Charly, Mary , Brett, Ben and Jacob Ridgel.  We have been designing costumes and are hoping to have a fabulous time.  I made Mary's corset yesterday.  I still need to add the trim and eyelets.  We will be sewing costumes all summer.  ; )

Mary Helps Grandpa

Mary helped Grandpa in the garage on Saturday.  Grandpa had 7 tires that he needed to store in the loft of his workshop.  The tires will be used in the boat making process.  Grandpa had a pulley system to lift the tires into the attic.  He showed Mary what to do and asked her if she had any questions.  Together, they moved 7 tires into the loft in about 20 minutes.  Mary lifted, hooked and pulled the tires.  Mary did her part independently and Grandpa did his part from the loft.  They made a great team.

Mary and Baby Aiden!

By the smile on Mary's face I can tell that she is having the time of her life.  Baby Aidan is beautiful.  I can't wait to see you guys on Friday.

Grandpa's Boat Progress

Attached are a few pixs showing the latest progress in building Chesapeake Light Craft's PocketShip (my Tattoo).  Next are the cockpit seat-backs and cabin roof.  I'm estimating the "turnover" in about a month, then the reverse "turnover" and rigging by September 1.

I'm going to try to make it to the Corsica River Regatta in July, but Tattoo probably won't be ready.  Maybe I'll camp out and bring Anna like I did last year.  I really enjoy that outing.  Happy Sailing - PK McCrary

Last Day of School!

Today is the last day of school and the beginning of summer vacation for Mary.  I have to work until Friday.  Mary had a wonderful year and made many new friends.  It's hard to believe that little baby Mary has just finished 2nd grade.  Where has the time gone?  In a year.... she'll be taller than Bonnie.

Our summer is going to be very busy.  First we have the wedding and Vacation Bible School and Bonnie's church!  We can't wait to spend time in Chambersburg finishing up on last minute wedding preparations.  In addition we want to travel to North Carolina and Tennessee to visit Kate, Nathan and Sara.... plus travel to Virginia to visit Aunt Barbie.  We've been planning a camping trip but need to buy a tent and find the courage to camp by ourselves.

Mary has a week at Camp Blue Diamond!  and will be spending a week at her Dad's in addition to her regular visits.

It is going to be a very busy summer.  School starts August 16th.  We are planning on having the best summer vacation ever.

Mary took a white t-shirt to school to be signed on Friday.  All  her friends and teachers signed it.  It turned out adorable.  She wore it today with a big smile.

Her summertime sandals arrived on Saturday.  They are purple and perfect for the summer heat.  I love summer because I don't have to wash socks anymore!  Kate wanted to see a picture of the sandals.  Here they are!  Don't worry Bonnie - she'll have a pedicure before the wedding!

Mary and I have missed everyone this past year.  We are looking forward to seeing as many of our family and friends that we can.  Enjoy the day!.

2nd Grade Field Day @ KPMS

2nd Grade Field Day at KPMS was full of fun and hot sweaty kids.  They had stations with different athletic activities.  Mary ran the quarter mile at the end.  She did fabulous.  Mary's friend Torie is in the parachute picture.  Everyone had an amazing time.  The kids were exhausted .... which was the plan.

Summer is around the corner!

Mary had a terrific year at Keyser Primary.  She had a fabulous teacher and made many sweet friends.  A few highlights of the past year.... jump rope for heart (Mary raised $56), Student of the Month (April), Piano lessons, 2nd grade Kickball tournament, The Nutcracker in Altoona for Christmas, and this coming Friday is 2nd grade Field Day and the Ballet!  It has been a great year.
