LIttle People are going to a Wedding!

I found a little people engagement set for Bonnie.  I love "Little People"... I was thinking that they would look fabulous on a cake for some sort of party.  Bonnie loved them ... I think!

Pickled Eggs for Dean!

Dean loves pickled eggs and so do I.  At breakfast the day of Nathan's wedding, for some reason, Dean and I were discussing the pros of pickled eggs.  I said that I would make him some in the future.  Happy Easter, Dean, enjoy the pickled eggs!
Suzie's Pickled Egg Recipe

Equal parts, beet juice, sugar and vinegar ( about 1 cup each)
Bring to a boil.
Add 3-4 cloves, 1-2 cinnamon sticks and 1 tsp allspice tied in cheesecloth.
Simmer 15 minutes or until eggs are peeled.

Morning Easter Egg Hunt - The pictures tell the story!

The morning was beautiful.  The deer were walking through the woods as we came outside for our egg hunt.  The yard still needs to be raked.  It will never get done.  There are not enough hours in the day.... maybe next weekend.  Charlie Cat enjoyed watching the girls run like crazy.  He has been watching the bird feeders very carefully but hasn't had any luck.  Country birds are much wiser than city birds.

Later that morning!

We dyed Easter Eggs and had another egg hunt...... Roy gave me some beautiful Easter flowers - yellow tulips.  I have to figure out wear to plant them so that they will come up next fall.  During all the fun Easter preparation - I made a Easter Surprise for Dean.

Spring Beauties

This morning we cleaned up the yard a bit.  Picking up all sorts of trash and raking leaves.  With 21 oak trees - I will never be able to rake all the leaves.  I give up!  We found some beautiful spring flowers - spring beauties.  Love them.  They are very very tiny.http://www.illinoiswildflowers.info/woodland/plants/spring_beauty.htm

Easter Egg hunt at Nadia's house Thursday after school!

Thursday after school, Mary went down to ride bikes with Nadia.  They decided to have an Easter Egg hunt.  The got plastic eggs from Nadia's grandmom and filled them with anything they could fine.... cheerios, raisins and jelly beans.  Charlotte (Nadia's grandmother) hid the eggs for the kids.  They waited for Charly and then had an egg hunt.  A fun time was had by all!

Tuesday morning in Keyser, West Virginia

Mary and I have a little tradition of going to breakfast at Denny's about twice a month. We went this morning. Instead of getting out the door at 7:15, we have to leave at 6am. But it is well worth it. Our waiters are usually college students from Potomac State. It's nice to begin forming new traditions in our new home.

This morning was a tad different because from our table at the window we saw a pair of ducks land. We watched them as they cautiously approached the water and then proceeded to wade. They stayed until we scared them away taking pictures.

Our neighbors must be unused to our new tradition because when Mary was playing with Nadia this afternoon - her grandpa Bill - told Mary that he was afraid that we didn't know that there was school and he thought we had left for PA. Not a bad idea but we made it to work and school on time. ; )

Mary took the first 3 pictures.  She did a wonderful job.  Mr. and Mrs. Mallard look wonderful in their spring plumage.  We discussed the book - "Make Way for Ducklings" and plan to read it later in the week.
