Luke's Baptism - May 19, 2012

Little Luke's baptism was yesterday.  It was a beautiful day in Tennessee.  Mary and I wish we were there.  Nathan, Sara and Luke look wonderful.  Posted a picture of Nathan's baptism.  Both baby's are wearing Ray's baptismal outfit - very cool.

Started these Birthday Banner's just after Luke's birth for Sara's Birthday on March 29th.  Didn't get them done in time.  I think they arrived in Tennessee by May 8th.  oops.

Kate drove home from Raleigh, North Carolina for Mother's Day.  Everyone had a great time.  Boberry is visiting for a week or two.  ; )  He is the cutest little dog.  More pictures to come.   

Baby sweater for Rylan

Baby sweater knit for Hannah's little boy Rylan.  The colors are blue and gold for WV.  It was a fun sweater to knit.  The pattern is Baby Surprise Sweater by Elizabeth Zimmerman.  I made a green, blue and tan sweater out of the same yarn for Luke.  I'm starting one for Bonnie.  Bonnie is due December 2nd!  ; )

Most of the pictures were taken in TN at Nathan and Sara's home.  Chuck's picture was taken in Manassas at my parents home.  This spring has been very hectic but fun.  The TN Sylvesters are doing great.

I can't believe that I almost forgot to post pictures taken during Mary's star performance as Charlotte from Charlotte's Web.  It was fantastic.  The school Parent Volunteer Coordinator is trying to arrange another performance for children and parents at our school.  I will post more information in the fall.

New couch delivered on Tuesday!

I think my pillows and quilts look great with the couch.  It is a bit dark and I didn't notice that in the showroom but I think I'll like it for now.  It is very comfortable!

Summer has begun!

Mary and I enjoying lunch on our front porch last weekend.  We are loving the new grill and have been grilling every night!

Welcome Maggie! Mary has a new pet!

Mary and I had an exciting Saturday in Pennsylvania with Bonnie and Dean.  We met a new friend @ PetSmart!  Maggie the Guinea Pig!  She is adorable and very young.  We just had to have her!  Hopefully, she will be a wonderful addition to our home.  Charlie Cat is being very cautious at the moment .... hopefully he will behave himself.

First Project of the New Year.... DONE!

I've been working on these gloves for Dean for a year now.  They turned out pretty well.  I think they will be part of next year's Christmas gifts.  I want to use them for a prototype in order to make gloves for Nathan and the rest.  Maybe next year... everyone might get handmade mittens or gloves.  ; )  Maybe

Mary is loving her new American Girl doll from Santa.  Momma is loving it too since Julie is 10 and the year is 1974.  I remember the styles, the games and the fun.  This doll has opened up conversations between Mary and me about the bicentennial, school yard games and fashion.  I don't know who is having more fun ~ Mary or Me.

Christmas is past and New Years in around the corner.  My favorite week of the year... time to sit, sew, knit and think about future.  I'm eager to blog again and hopefully for the first few months of the year ... I will be prompt.  I'm trying to finish up a pair of gloves for Dean, a sweater for myself and leg warmers for Mary.  If only I could finish them as quickly as I can think of them.

Mary is doing beautifully in Ballet this year.  She loves her teacher and is doing very well.  Twice a year, the East Pointe Ballet Company puts on two ballets.  The Christmas Ballet was called the Christmas Fairy.  Mary was a ballerina doll.  She looked beautiful.

Where has the time gone?

Thanksgiving has come and gone and I still haven't posted.  We had a wonderful holiday. Both Kate and Anna made the trip to West Virginia.

Mary's Birthday Party!

Mary had the perfect day for her 9th Birthday Party.  Once again, we had an outdoor harvest theme.  The kids carved pumpkins, played in the leaves and had a scavenger hunt.  We had hot dogs, chili, miniature pumpkin cakes and homemade ice cream.  Mary had 4 friends attend.... Katie, Charly, Jacob and Ben.  Everyone had a good time.

The volunteer firemen worked for about a hour and 30 minutes.  Charlie was very timid.  At one point he jumped and the fireman caught him mid-air and brought him down safely.  Charlie was very glad to be out of the tree.  I hope he doesn't plan to get into mischief again anytime soon.
